Tampere Festival of Light
Celebrating the darkest season of the year, the Tampere Festival of Light illuminated the city centre with magical lights spheres, street projections and exciting light art from 27 October 2023 to 7 January 2024.
Light art installations by Tuomo Rosenlund and Mika Hannula illuminated city centre in the Light Gallery until 10 March 2024.

Window Walkabout art event brings joy to Tampere Festival of Light
Taking place in 20 municipalities starting from 24th of October, Window Walkabout is the largest art event ever arranged in the Tampere Region (i.e. Pirkanmaa). The series of free art events inside windows will be realised by up to a thousand cultural actors, and it is the culmination point of the three-year a regional culture development project Operation Pirkanmaa.
Tampere Festival of Light kicked off to the tunes of the Eurovisions
The Tampere Festival of Light was once again in full glory when the opening ceremony was held on Friday 27 October in Koskipuisto Park. The Eurovision-themed opening ceremony attracted a large crowd.

Visual artist Tuomo Rosenlund and author Mika Hannula collaborate in the joint exhibition Urban Utopia merging visual and verbal storytelling. The Light Gallery is part of the Tampere Festival of Light programme and is produced by the Tampere Art Museum.

Tampere Festival of Light is an annual festival celebrating the darkest season of the year. During the festival, Tampere city centre is illuminated with a collection of light art and projections. The first ever Tampere Festival of Light was organized in 1966, and it lasted three weeks. Today people are able to enjoy the lights throughout the dark fall and winter season, from late October until the beginning of January. The 58th Festival of Light takes place in Tampere city centre from 27th October 2023.
