The Tampere Festival of Light opening ceremony will be celebrated with Eurovision theme – featuring the Eurovision winner Emmelie de Forest

9.10.2023 The Tampere Festival of Light opening ceremony will take place on Friday 27 October from 7 to 7.30 pm in Koskipuisto with a Eurovision theme. Music will be provided by Emmelie de Forest and Anneli Saaristo. Admission to the opening ceremony is free.

Tampere Festival of Light is back – opening ceremony on 27 October

23.10.2023 The traditional Tampere Festival of Light will once again light up the city during the darkest time of the year from 27 October. The opening ceremony will take place on Friday 27 October from 7 to 7.30 pm in Koskipuisto. Tampere Festival of Light will end on 7 January 2024, except for the Light Gallery, which will continue until 10 March 2024.

9.1.2023 The 57th Tampere Festival of Light illuminated the streets of Tampere city centre with hundreds of magical light spheres, street projections and exciting light art during the darkest time of the year from 28th October 2022 to 8th January 2023. The Light Gallery exhibition Muumit ja talven taika produced by the Tampere Art Museum, will continue until March 12.

Tampere Festival of Light illuminates Tampere from 28 October to 8 January 

24.10.2022 Celebrating the darkest season of the year, the Tampere Festival of Light, also known as Valoviikot, illuminates the city centre with hundreds of magical light spheres, street projections and exciting light art from October 28, 2022 to January 8, 2023. The opening ceremony of the festival will take place on Friday 28 October at 7 pm in Koskipuisto. The Festival of Light will be shortened this year as part of the “Down a degree” energy saving campaign. The festival will end at epiphany on January 8, 2023.
